God Did It

I don’t know how the flowers bloom
Or how the spring rains fall
I don’t know how the seasons change
I don’t know much at all

There’s lots of stuff I do not know
And though it may seem odd
Let’s please not call it ignorance—
I’d rather call it God.

I don’t know how some things feel right
And other things feel wrong
I don’t know why some people fight
While others get along

There’s lots of stuff I do not know
And though it may seem odd
Let’s please not call it ignorance—
I’d rather call it God.

I don’t know where the stars came from—
How life emerged from slime
I don’t know how a heartbeat starts
Or who invented time

There’s lots of stuff I do not know
And though it may seem odd
Let’s please not call it ignorance—
I’d rather call it God.

I don’t know why the tides come in
Or why the tides go out
I don’t know if there is a plan
Or what it’s all about

There’s lots of stuff I do not know
And though it may seem odd
Let’s please not call it ignorance—
I’d rather call it God.

I don’t know what a god might be
God’s never said “hello”
But don’t you think it’s better than
Admitting I don’t know?

I just deleted a big long rant here. Maybe I’ll return to the topic at some point, but for now, anyone who doesn’t know what this verse is about… welcome to the internets!

Of course every time an explanation for a natural phenomena is determined, gods are conspicuously absent from the explanation.

You realize letting us know about the deleted big long rant is like throwing meat in front of starving bears and then saying “just kidding!”. You do realize that, right?

    RAAAAWWWRRRR!

Awww, but we like big long rants. Oh well, a catchy little bit of verse is nice too.

PS: Hey DC, my cuttle-badges showed up! Thanks so much! I’ll send you a pic just as soon as I replace the now-deceased car that they would have gone on.

Set to a catchy little tune, this might be popular among Christian children. *grin*
