    From the article:

Pence signed the bill during a private ceremony in his Statehouse office just before 10 a.m. Thursday. He was joined by supportive lawmakers, Franciscan monks and nuns, orthodox Jews, and some of the state’s most powerful lobbyists on conservative social issues.

The event was closed to the public and the press.

Tells you everything you need to know there. Yo, Gov – you put your signature to a bill that will open the door for legalized discrimination against marginalized peoples. And you did it behind closed doors surrounded by fellow bigots and god-whiners. Way to make a stand for “freedom” you spineless shitbag!

Hm. Five minutes of Googling and reading make me think it’s a misnomer — it would be better called the Religious Exemption Restoration Act.

Isn’t the rule that churches get to keep their tax exemptions so long as they don’t meddle in politics??

Okay, IRS – get the list of everyone in that office. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

Did you realize that families in America pay an average of $1,000 extra in taxes just so that Christians’ wasteful little private clubhouses – I mean “churches” – don’t have to pay their fair share? One analysis put the cost to society of the religious tax exemption at $71 BILLION in uncollected tax revenue (which the rest of us are having to make up). Let them pay.

Funny thing: At first glance I was wondering about what kind of “[un]holy alliance” they had managed to wangle with all those women wearing hijabs.
