Standards. What standards do you want to live by? Do you want to live by high standards, to show the rest of the world what can be, to be a beacon of hope for those living in horrid situations? Or do you just want to say “fuck that, things are much worse elsewhere … let’s just go ahead and minimize the amount of civility we have to show others since, hell, we’ll never be as bad as all those people”?
You’re right, Ophelia. They can be thankful that ISIS and Boko Haram and a whole host of other barbarians continue to keep their standards at zero. It allows these asswipes to feel superior for the simple act of attaining barely-minimal standards of civility. How proud they can be.

Someone needs to turn this meme around. The first two pictures can be of men in the world with “real” problems, and the third picture can be some guy complaining, “Some feminist objected to me acting like an asshole! I’m gonna whine on twitter!”
It’s far more satisfying to watch them make themselves look ridiculous. Seriously, anti-feminists are doing more to undermine themselves than any jpeg could between the wailing and gnashing of teeth for years over a woman saying “Guys, don’t do that”, Dawkins equipping his Christian opponents with all the argument necessary to have atheist concerns completely disregarded as a “First World Problem”, and the harassment campaign against women under the guise of “ethics in journalism” to combat the feminist conspiracy.
So the conclusion is these people must look up to Boko Haram and ISIS (may even be envious of them).
If being mean to women is a good thing in their eyes, then surely Boko Haram are their heroes.

Third world man problems: My daughters got kidnapped by Boko Haram.
First world man problems: Some woman got mad at me because I spread my legs on the bus and took up half the seat beside me.
Some of the commentary on the whole men sitting with their legs spread and taking up two seats, on the train or elsewhere, really annoys me. Asking men to act with some consideration and to display simple good manners isn’t some sort of feminist attack.
Being considerate of others and showing good manners in communal spaces is part of the requirements for being both a man and a decent human being in general.
When did being a selfish idiot become a defining quality of masculinity?
