Cute. Reminds me of a cute image-edit job (“Photoshop”): a picture of a domestic cat looking in a mirror and seeing a lion.

The tiger genome and comparative analysis with lion and snow leopard genomes : Nature Communications : Nature Publishing Group Domestic cats and tigers have genomes about 96% alike, and they likely diverged about 11 million years ago. We and gorillas have genomes about 95% alike, and we and they diverged about 9 million years ago. Similarity measures depend on what’s counted, and that can vary.

Ah, the essence of any self-portrait.

A friend of mine has a cat which has to be a serious contender for fattest in the world. If it could be bothered, it would probably portray itself as a lion, of the sea variety. If not that, then probably a blue whale: and a cranky one.
