At its convention in Houston, over the weekend, the National Rifle Association asked a vendor to take down a mannequin target that looked like President Barack Obama, Buzzfeed reported on Sunday.
The vendor, Zombie Industries, produces “life-sized tactical mannequin” targets that “bleed” when shot. Photographs of the company’s booth at the convention taken by Buzzfeed show that the company had several sample mannequins displayed for sale, including a clown, a “terrorist,” and a Nazi.
“Someone from the NRA came by and asked us to remove it” a Zombie Industries booth worker told BuzzFeed, referring to the company’s “Bleeding Rocky Zombie” target. “They thought it looked too much like President Obama.”
Buzzfeed asked the worker if the resemblance was intentional.
“Let’s just say I gave my Republican father one for Christmas,” the worker replied.

To preface, this company with their target dummies is thoroughly loathsome. “The Ex” actually disturbs me more because right or wrong violence towards effigies of political figures has a long pedigree in the English-speaking tradition. Violent misogynistic fantasies are much more likely to have real consequences than anti-Obama antics. But now for what I see as a paranoid, evidence-free response from Eneraldo:
To date Guantanamo has been used for one type of prisoner: foreign Muslims suspected of aiding Islamic terrorism and/or fighting against the UN mission in Afghanistan. The only way a Black Panther or Communist could end up in Guantanamo is if they were engaged in such activities and were not an American citizen, particularly unlikely with African-Americans. No left-wing militant of any stripe, nor any American citizen for any crime has been sent there from the United States. Your comment is not borne out by any evidence. It is 100% paranoid rhetoric, on par with the “death panels” nonsense.
Besides given your comment I would not be surprised if you loath Obama for various left-wing reasons (e.g. drones, economic policy, illegal immigration) but with the same ultimate intensity as these right-wing nuts.
