So the main problem with this blog network, from what I gather, is that bloggers here are generally supportive of women’s rights issues (aka feminism), and women and men feel comfortable addressing these issues without the usual abuse and nastiness you get practically everywhere else on the internet.
But to Michael Shermer, discussing issues women face such as discrimination, gender stereotyping, harrassment and violence is oppressive and abusive and on par with fascist, genocidal regimes and totalitarian dictatorships such as the Nazi party.

    Unreal.

@1: According to the screenshot, this is what Shermer said:

People who equate America with gun control to Nazi Germany do not know anything about history. Read Richard Evans 3-vol history Nazi Germany

How does this have anything to do with this blog network? In addition, it seems to be a very sensible comment (especially for a libertarian.)

@Bill, It’s entirely relevant if you just go up to recent posts thingy over there, click on the link that reads “Shermer responds. Again.” and read, like this part.

To date, I have stayed out of this witch hunt against our most prominent leaders, thinking that “this too shall pass.” Perhaps I should have said something earlier. As Martin Niemoller famously warned about the inactivity of German intellectuals during the rise of the Nazi party, “first they came for…” but “I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a…”

Richard Evans? The same guy who participated in the trial against Holocaust revisionist David Irving? And yet Shermer invokes the Nazis when whining about people using his own words?
