Having it both ways, Albuquerque division

Good old religious entitelement. The state can’t tell religious entities what to do, because freedom, but if the state wants to give religious entities lots of money, why it’s the least they can do. That’s how the people who run Hope Christian School in Albuquerque view the matter.

A three year-old was denied admittance to Hope Christian School in Albuquerque, N.M. because he has two gay fathers, KOAT-TV reported.

A letter sent to the family offered the school’s rationale:

“Same gender couples are inconsistent with scriptural lifestyle and biblical teachings,” and “Home life doesn’t reflect the school’s belief of what a biblical family lifestyle is.”

The letter added that because Hope Christian School is private, it is exempt from “excessive government interference in matters of religion,”according to KOAT-TV.

And yet, the school will receive over $60,000 dollars from the federal government this year, according to the Huffington Post.

Heads we win, tails you lose. That’s fair, right?

Do these assholes even acknowledge how many incredibly fucked up families are shown in the Bible?

Religion or supervillain – the attitude is the same.

Alyson – not to mention polygyny.

The whole idea that the bible is fulla examples of family life straight out of US sitcoms from the ’50s is so pathetic it would be laughable, if it didn’t do so much damage.

You forget how oppressed, oh! how utterly oppressed (And bullied!), the Christian majority is, in this country. Newspapers bringing to light priestly sex abuses of children, number of irreligious Americans rising, nuns promoting safe sex and contraception… They are besieged, besieged I tells ya!

And you want to take away their right to discriminate against people, based on their own interpretation of a violent, idiotic, delusional fairytale?

    How could you!

Well, their statement is true, then. And good thing for that kid.

Of course. This pair of parents love eachother, and have decided to have a child because they wanted one.

They’ve not been forced together, nor do they spawn endlessly to have bargaining chips.

Biblical marriage is about coercion and non-consenting submission.

Wow, that seems pretty clear cut. You take government money, you don’t get to discriminate like that. (in an ideal world).

Clearly the children have not got their father drunk and seduced him into making them pregnant so I guess it’s not a biblical family. (Genesis 19:30-38).

Sadly if you have sufficient perceived voting clout you get the money and get to make up the rules for yourself.
