Skepticon 4 videos are posted…

I wasn’t able to attend this year’s Skepticon (or the 3 that preceded it), but I have a very strong suspicion that I’ll be at SK5. I do, though, enjoy seeing what I’ve missed. I’ve had the great fortune of meeting and spending time with many of the speakers at other events and I love to see friends and acquaintances-I-hope-will-be-lifelong-friends give talks that educate, entertain and inspire.

This year’s lineup was pretty damned impressive and I’ve already watched the talks from JT Eberhard, Greta Christina and Julia Galef – and I highly recommend all of them. You can follow the links to see their talks and you can just drop by and/or subscribe to the HamboneProductions Channel to find the rest. I’m hoping to watch the other talks (from Darrel Ray, Hemant Mehta, Sam Singleton, PZ Myers, Dan Barker, Richard Carrier, David Fitzgerald, Jen McCreight, Spencer Greenberg and more…) in the coming days.

That said, I’m going to embed one of the videos here…so that you can start your journey with an entertaining and important talk from Rebecca Watson, to start your journey. It’s called “The Religious Right Vs. Every Woman On Earth” :

I loved Julia Galef’s presentation. My wife and I have had discussions about rationality and how you can’t always be logical, that you have to sometimes trust your intuition. She called it a “leap of faith” but now I know what it is and that is does have a part in rational thought, and that it has nothing at all to do with faith. This will allow me to make better decisions while still being a faithless atheist.

I’ve seen most of the Skepticon 4 videos. Dan Barker and Rebecca Watson were both very good. PZ was entertaining as usual.
