    Went to a fine baroque concert organized by Sibelius Academy on Saturday, not Vivaldi, but Ayres by Nicola Matteis, played by a quartet with baroque violin, baroque cello, baroque guitar/theorbo, and harpsichord/organ. They played very well. The cello didn’t have any spike like the modern ones so the celloist had to hold it in place with her legs.

    Also heard some romantic music live this week, Mahler’s 6th symphony performed by Helsinki Philharmonic. It was massive and loud, also very good. My ears were happy for not being in the first row.
