    Very nice.

    A little research suggests to me that this was painted at his Shinnecock Hills Summer School on Long Island, NY.

    I wanted to find out because although it’s an impressionist piece the color palette didn’t quite look European to me. Not that I know anything about art, even though I’ve seen a lot of it. I don’t remember William Merrett Chase coming to my attention before, although I may have seen his work and just didn’t realize it.

    It’s certainly nicer than the grey day we’re having here.

    @flex,
    I’ve spent a lot of time on the Gaspe Peninsula and the light is very reminiscent of what I see there. So, it’s nice to know it was painted in a similar light.
    Thanks for looking up the information.
