I don’t think I’ve ever seen this work. It has so many art styles represented, which is a feature of art nouveau.
Those birds feeding their nestlings give it a bit of medieval heraldry, to frame the roman mosaic. The narrow band of tiles that borders the plain wall is so well done it seems to shine. It looks remarkably similar to the modern glass bathroom tiles that are currently in vogue.
Wait — so we’re supposed to see Nestle and think of a bird regurgitating worms?
