I put up the feeder some while ago, and especially with the light snow, the birds are really happy about it. Only the pics are bad because we don’t have any light. The skies have been overcast for more than a month now, which is really getting on my mood because it never gets light. 9 am, 2 pm, 4 pm, it’s all the same and then it is dark.

Whoa! Love that first Bullfinch picture, so velvety…
I looked for these when I was visiting England an Wales over Christmas many moons ago, never did find any. (I suspect the English have rather depleted this species’ habitat over the last, oh, nine centuries or so). Very great thing to have coming into your garden!

Your bad luck with finding bullfinches may have been a seasonal problem. I currently have 4 pairs in the garden, but I only see them in winter. In summer they live happily in the woods.
The tits are all around the year birds, as are the pigeons and the crows. And the robins. I’m worried about the jays, though.
Just two years ago, siskins were coming to our feeder in flocks. Last year I have seen one, this year so far none. The same goes for greenfinches, goldfinches, blackbirds, jays, and numerous other birds -- I have not seen them so far either at all or a lonely bird that disappeared before I got my camera. I would love to post some bird pictures, but it is increasingly more difficult to get any. It scares me.
