That is a very, very long book. An interesting glimpse in the past are the advertisements at the end.
I have some old cookery and knitting books that have advertisments like that in the back. The one for Bile Beans particularly caught my attention, then I was walking on York City walls one day and there was the same ad blown up to fit on the side of a house, faded but still quite legible. Bile beans must have been quite profitable whatever they were!
