I’m pretty sure that the pond people, the grassland people and the woodland people all dislike Jake. Oh and the air people, especcially the bees, wasps and flies that come anywhere near him.
The pond people on the cover are giving a dirty look. I have received similar looks from crows that have caught me photographing them, but who have deemed me harmless enough that flying away isn’t necessary or feasible.
