June Light

It’s that wonderful time of the month when Nightjar shares her portraits of light.

In the month of the Summer Solstice sunlight is brighter than ever and nature is bracing for the dry season. Many wildflowers have gone to seed and are drying out already (some are doing weird stuff like the wild chive in the last photo… perhaps confused by the unstable weather?) and bugs are very busy. Backlighting is trickier this time of the year but I tried to play with June Light from all angles and I think it was worth it.

Those are really cool photos. I especially like the one with a bug on the white flowers, because I get the subtle association of it walking on clouds (those white flowers remind me of a cloud).

Personally, I really like this part of the year, because the end of June is when linden trees are blooming, and those are my favorite summer flowers. I spent the last week photographing linden flowers, my images are here — https://andreasavester.com/summer-flowers-blooming-linden-trees/

Third one down is magical! I also like the glowing effect of the wings in the fourth.
    Thanks for sharing, Nightjar!! ♥

Thanks, voyager. Considering I sent these on Saturday I wasn’t expecting them to get posted still in June, but they did! :D

It does look a bit like that now that you mention it! Now I’m thinking I should have tried to compose the photo to have a blue sky in the background. I love your photos of linden flowers, they are so beautiful. I can almost smell them from here. :)

The light gives me life! I especially love the first and the last two. The fur in the first, the heraldic back of the bug and the the little tendrils in the last are gorgeous.
