“Unheimlich” is one of the words where I just can’t find a 100% English equivalent. Mix strange and spooky and scary and it’s all of that.
would make an awesome album cover for the bands that play the awful, awful music I listen to! :)
What lovely artwork and binding. I read Unheimliche as otherworldly, but creepy seems to cover all the meanings. Heimchen, Waldleute, and the Putzmommel aren’t always scary stories, though a lot of Germannic folk-tales are quite gruesome.

I was hoping you’d explain the title.
The entire book is available through the Internet Archive, but it’s in old fashioned German script and I couldn’t make heads or tails of it.
