Jack and I are still on the east coast of Quebec in our little village called Perce. There are so many beautiful vistas here that it’s hard to choose, but today I’ll share the Chic Choc (pronounced Shick Shock) mountains. They’re the Canadian part of the Appalachian mountain range and are among the oldest mountains in the world. I love the soft rounded peaks that roll one into the other in a long unbroken chain. I’ll be sharing more photos of certain places in the mountains, but this is the long view to whet your appetite.

The rounded shapes and the fact that it’s all covered in forest makes the scenery so beautiful.

Those hills look a bit like what I see behind my house, though on a different scale. Sadly they are covered in an eucalyptus monoculture. I often think how much more beautiful the view would be if it was a native and diverse forest instead.
One of these days I have to take some landscape photos of the hills I see from the balcony. But I’m just not as good as you are at landscape photography, so often I don’t even try.

A finely firred set of hills there, much like the toy mountains I live amongst.
Reminds me of the hills in Eastern Tennessee where my mother and her parents grew up. The family cemetery there has dates back to the late 1700’s. That side of my family has been in the now USA for quite a while.
They make interesting shapes, it’s no wonder they’ve been mistaken for sleeping giants and the like!

You have such a good sense for using light that I’m sure you’d be excellent at landscape photography. I’m not a very confident photographer myself. When I do landscape I tend to shoot wide and crop later.
