And here I am, never having the good fortune to come across a snapping turtle, one shows up and I’m in the wrong place. I’m glad Rick got photos, but I wish I’d been there! :D

Very cute indeed. I gather the name snapping turtle doesn’t come from aggressive, impatient and quick speaking style, but from the somewhat bite-happy character of these fine tetrapods.

The ridged back and the tail are great.
