    One of our local magpie pairs is nesting in the very top of a large conifer (maybe two and a half stories tall) a couple of gardens over. This is a favourite spot for all the larger birds, but this couple is chasing all the others off, “look the WHOLE tree is ours now, just go!”., the other birds (mostly pigeons) are saying “don’t be bleeding ridiculous, you don’t need the whole tree and it’s not like we eat your young …”

    Do they make the same kind nests there as they do here, with a roof and all that, basically big balls of twigs?
