I think the butterfly is a small white, Pieris rapae.

The tulip is the same as I showed here. The weather was not kind, heavy rain, wind and even a hailstorm. I was surprised it lasted so long and aged so nicely. I am not at all happy that I planted 6 tulip bulbs and only got 2 flowers…

    Neither would I be happy.

Doesn’t the small white have only one spot per side?

Our tulips have yet to make a significant showing out of the ground, much less pass into faded-glory stage. Beautiful lighting effects, and well done with the butterfly.

Thanks, rq! My tulips have lost their petals already. I think my garden is done for the year in terms of bulbs, except for the lilies and gladioli. The lilies are about to bloom, the gladioli I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve lost them.
