Jack’s Walk

I think someone forgot to give Mother Nature the memo that it’s springtime. Yesterday we had a blizzard and today it continues to snow off and on. The temperature is hovering around -5 and everywhere I go people are grumbling. Jack and I decided to go to the park this morning and even the ducks and geese seemed out of sorts. Over at the frog pond the water is still frozen and there isn’t a single thing even close to blooming. What few bulbs that had poked their heads up have come no further. I don’t blame them. If not for Jack, I wouldn’t be outside today either.

That must be very beautiful in Spring. I’m with you all the way, I don’t want to be out either. It’s gray and it’s been snowing. It’s so not helping my mental state.

Well, today was pretty cold, but not very cloudy. Lots of light’s been streaming through the windows. I hope your skies clear up soon, Caine.

I can see hope and beauty in the picture. But yeah, temperatures above freezing point would be an improvement at this point. Also, the unbroken solid surface of the pond isn’t conducive to swimming. Speaking from experience from over 20 years ago, that you can’t swim in a frozen water area if there’s no hole in the ice, even if you’re drunk.

Warmer temperatures and liquid rain for you all on that side of the big pond.

I’m looking forward to pics of this when Spring finally arrives. And summer.
We seem to be getting there, but there was hoarfrost on the “lawn*” this morning.

*Or what is left of it after we removed the moss and as long as there is hoarfrost we cannot sow new grass. Though I don’t think our “lawn” is up to the standard of what many people consider “lawn” anyway. You could call it lazy gardening, we call it ecologically friendly.

I love this photo! Living in Texas I don’t see much snow and our cold days don’t last long, so this chill looks charming to me!

Oh no. I hope all your flowers are alright.
