J Is For Juoni.

Juoni.

The Finnish word juoni has multiple meanings. Plot (of a book or a play) or intrigue. As a geological term it means a dike. This dike is (I think) a magmatic intrusion, probably thousands of millions years old. This rock is in Kaivopuisto, Helsinki and the (otherwise) paved seaside way/path for pedestrians goes over it.

I love that sort of rock, though most that I have seen has much whiter intrusions. I am rather partial to grey and pink.

    I think they’re dog tracks.

Charly’s comments about intrusions in a rock in one of my goose pictures taken in Kaivopuisto inspired me to try to put together a set of pictures like this, but I never got around to picking/taking enough good ones to complete the set.

What a beautiful rock. The pink squiggles look like puffs of smoke. Also, the dog tracks tell a little story.
