    Thank you, jazzlet. Stonechats never disappoint with the poses they do and they always let me get close enough, one of my favorite birds to photograph for sure!

    Standing up. And, yes a nice catch.

    In Finnish this is a mustapäätasku (blackheaded pocket), for some reason many birds in the flycatcher family are either sieppo* (could be translated as catcher) or tasku.

    * = However, viskisieppo isn’t bird, that’s a (human) drunkard.

    Thanks, Ice Swimmer. That’s cool to know! So tasku is pocket?

    In Portuguese they are called cartaxo which as far as I am aware doesn’t mean anything apart from being the name of a bird and the name of a city. Blackheaded pocket is much funnier. :)

    Yes, it is.

    Of the flycatchers that are called tasku, the Northern wheatear (kivitasku, stone pocket) is probably the best known here.
