    Flickr just has ‘woodpecker’ on everything. A Siskin, oh, they are such pretty little birds, and not disturbed by much when there’s food around. I’ve gotten very close to Pine Siskins here, you have to pretty much be on top of them for them to be alarmed at all.

    Yup, siskin, one of the smallest birds in central Europe. I haven’t seen those around this year yet. Maybe more birds will come now when it is freezing again.

    Cute woodland camouflage. In Finnish it’s called vihervarpunen (vihreä = green, varpunen = sparrow). Here they are mostly migratory birds.

    Sure seem to be a lot of varieties here from Andean to Yellow-rumped!

    I was vaguely thinking Golden Whistler (Pachycephala pectoralis) but that’s an Aussie species.

    Good photos too esp that second one.
