Oh, It’s All So Girly! What About The Poor Young Men?

Aww, Bono is awash in sad tears over the state of angry young men, because girly. The Girly™, it’s ruining everything!

I think music has gotten very girly. And there are some good things about that, but hip-hop is the only place for young male anger at the moment – and that’s not good. When I was 16, I had a lot of anger in me. You need to find a place for it and for guitars, whether it is with a drum machine – I don’t care. The moment something becomes preserved, it is fucking over. You might as well put it in formaldehyde. In the end, what is rock & roll? Rage is at the heart of it. Some great rock & roll tends to have that, which is why the Who were such a great band. Or Pearl Jam. Eddie has that rage.

Oh, the poor, poor young men, who will cry for them? Golly, such a terrible state of affairs when an angry young dude just can’t pick up a guitar, or bangsmash on a drum set, howl out their angst, or write a poor, pitiful me ode, because Girly™. Of course, it’s imfuckingpossible for women to be angry, because what on earth do ‘girls’ have to be angry about, right? Bono, an old white dude afloat on money and privilege, being a seriously bone-headed twit. Sorry dude, you aren’t relevant anymore, you’re plain old white male moneyed establishment. You can go fuck off, and in doing so, make way for the angry, sarcastic women…

He’s given me the creeps for years, I never liked U2 and the more he developed his messianic tendencies the worse I felt about him.

Bono is a knob and his music is shit. I could name at least dozen “girls” (spit) with more musical talent and integrity than that tedious fucker with even having to think about it.

Bones’s guitar sounds wonderfully gritty. but of course she can’t because her sound has the coochies and nobody has come up with a coochie filter pedal.

Great song. Bono, bitter dude who’s lost his touch.

Strange… I must’ve dreamt that punk band I saw the other night.

Oh, Bono means the only “commercial” place, I guess. Fuck that shit.

And now I’m gonna spend an hour YouTubing Bones.

P.S. Does a female bass player count, or is four strings easy enough for the wimminz?

Hee, music has lost its anger because there are too many female musicians in the industry? Has he MET any women lately, or is he really that oblivious to the world? Most musicians I know learned to play because they love music, not because of teen angst. Bono is really talking out his ass here anyway. Carol Kaye has been playing guitars with various rock music legends for longer than Bono has been alive. Michelle Steele, Joan Jett, Susanna Hoff also manage to play guitars and sing at the same time, maybe that is what makes “I Love Rock And Roll” so girly? Bones is new to me too, but she is really ripping it up.

Sixteen year old girls can also need an outlet for their anger, and they often have a whole hell of a lot more to be angry about than Bono ever did.

Welp, I guess I need to go tell the 16 year old girl who resides in our home that her efforts in playing bass, acoustic, and electric guitar as well as ukulele for the past seven years are for naught, because her brothers need a place to express their rage. The band will just have to break up for the sake of the boys. Her brothers.. one of whom also plays ukulele but gets his gruff out on the vidya games, and the other of whom has ignored his drum kit for the past umpty months because he’s too focused on soccer and school. Yes, music is the only outlet boys have, and it is only for boys, sorry daughter.

    (screw you, Bono)
