    In Cajun, they are called chadron. I’ve never tried them, but apparently the immature flower stalk of thistles is a seasonal delicacy very similar to globe artichoke.

    Yes, the wiki page has quite a bit on the gastronomy aspect; I was interested to see that a number of cheeses are completely reliant on the vegetable rennet Chardon provides.

    I am quite curious about the story attached to this one, as in spite of his aristocratic assurances, Chardon certainly does not trust the Donkey.
