    Sigh. I wish I had such wild flowers here. Unfortunately I am living in a very dull area from botanical point of view.

    True story: at the university we had to make during the summer holiday a herbarium of the plants, with prescribed amount of taxa from each order. During that year on one of the learning field trips I complained to my schoolmates that I will have real difficulty to meet that criterion, because I live in an area where “nothing really interesting grows and the biodiversity is low”. One tutor overheard me and asked “Oh really? Where do you live?” with the unsaid hint that I should not whine and get to work. So I said “I live in the region …”. Without much pause he replied “Hm, you are right, nothing really interesting grows there and the biodiversity really is low.”.
