AIC has played one of the (relatively) small venues (~2000 seats) in Raleigh a couple of times in the last few years. They still sound great, and the shows were packed. I hope they come around again, because I will gladly shell out the bucks to go. The above video is the “clean” version, because we all know that you can’t say “shove my nose in shit” or you might offend someone.

Well, yes. I probably could have looked for the one with the actual lyrics, but today has been nothing but one gigantic fucking frazzle, hence the mood, and the official version was the first to pop up, so I ran with it. I love the song, and I really miss Layne Staley’s vocals.

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to criticize you. It was more a comment on the fainting swoons of the easily offended if someone says the word “shit”.

The venue where we saw them these last two times was Raleigh Memorial Auditorium (a.k.a. Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts). In the last few years, I use musician’s earplugs at concerts because I don’t want to lose any more of my hearing than I already have. The plugs attenuate the volume by 10-15 db, but do not muffle the sound at all. I needed them for the AIC shows because they rocked the walls.

BTW, Staley was incredible, but DuVall does a very good job with the vocals.

The Pacific NW had something going back then. So much good came out of there. Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder are another couple of vocalists that are great.

Another band I seem to have missed. Wasn’t into the Seattle stuff all that much at the time, when this was new.

A lot of good stuff in this song.

No, no, I didn’t take it as a criticism, please, don’t worry about that. I agree with you. Monday, I didn’t have time to vet the video, which is something I usually do. I just assumed ‘official version’ would be fine. Goes to show what I know. If had listened, I would have caught that, and found another video. I usually do try to be careful when it comes to the vids, and select appropriately, but I was having a day, hence the ‘Man in a Box’ mood! :D I’ll be more careful in the future.

And yes, I agree DuVall is good. Just a nostalgia thing, I guess, for the rawness of Staley’s vocals.

Ice Swimmer, AIC is great, and they have a whole lot of good music, there’s much to explore!
