    Oooooo! I LOVE lightning storms.

    S. Ontario’s are usually kinda wimpy, but the Canadian prairies get some dandy ones. I imagine that Oz would be a great place for them.

I’ve vacationed there twice, but I don’t recall experiencing any while we were there. H’m. Probably something to do with not experiencing much in the way of clouds, period, in the entire time we were there (except in the tropics of Queensland -- which does not have quite the right mix of elements for thunderstorms.

I know a scientist from New Zealand who specializes in the study of lightning. He visited Australia, but moved permanently to where he could find the most of what he needed: north Florida.

Love lightning. I have also caught it on camera a whole two times in my life -- once by accident, and once by taking random shots of a major lightning storm through the window. :D Not artistic portraits by any means, and I’m still prouder of the first than I am of the second. ;)

These are awe-inspiring. The power of nature is immense.

Great beauty in the photos. I love to watch a good thunderstorm, however last summer, there was very little thunder here.

The most stunning lightning I’ve ever seen was last year, coming back from the NoDAPL camp in that rainstorm. I wish I could have gotten a photo, but we were lucky to see it through the waves of water lashing down, and we were driving at the time, but it was a column of lightning, huge, and so unreal to look at.
