I tried to see if the Pffft had anything to say about hydrophilic beads. Nothing, but the search suggested: “Did you mean: hydrophobic bears”

Oh, no. A “hydrophobic bear” would certainly, absolutely, definitely NOT be fun to play with.

I have, uh, a large supply of the beads. When they were a “thing” a few years ago I bought 5#. It turbs out 5# of the beads would probably turn a small lake solid…

They are huge fun and beautiful. I keep meaning to film dye flowing through them in a well lit jar.

If anyone wants some, just contact me with your address and I will provide. Just don’t out them up your nose, down your drain, or in your stomach.

I’ll take more! They are so much fun to play with, and the large amount I have now is all happily soaking in cinnamon and orange oils, making my studio smell incredibly wonderful. Oh, by the way, the small, shallow dish of them in the photos? I keep it on top of my computer’s adapter, brings out the scent in a wonderful way.

No idea, they are not accessible to the rat population. As far as I know, they aren’t toxic, but I don’t think it would be a good idea for them to eat them, which I’m pretty sure they would do.

    “the” @ 5

Yes, how one would survive an encounter with one is a mystery to me, assuming I wouldn’t have a motor vehicle or a sufficiently powerful firearm (I don’t and never have owned either).
