    Holy fuck, Caine!

Is that art yours? You make a lot of beautiful things, but this image really struck me. The lustrous crown, the shadows-that-might-be-tears, red areas that might convey blushing excitement, shame, or even bruises… all of that is engaging, but what really nails it as meaningful art is that lack of a mouth. A smile or a smirk or a grimace would make some interpretations impossible, others almost certain. The lack of the expressive mouth leaves me almost desperate to know more.

Really well done, whether in your creation or even just in your eye for selecting others’ work to illustrate this post.

also, though I view most images as indeterminate in gender, the lack of a mouth and chin makes it more likely that more people will share my experience of this image as gender-ambiguous.

BTW: I’m connecting the image to MS for various reasons. If I’m right, that makes the art all the better. If I’m wrong, the piece is still absolutely wonderful. I’m leaving my association titled merely “MS” because for those who already made the association, I think that’s enough, and for those who haven’t, I don’t want to ruin the process of thought and investigation that led me there.

No, no, that’s not my work, it’s Terry Furry’s, who did all the artwork for The Gay Agenda. We do have two postcards featuring this art though, perks for funding the agenda. :D
