The erect plant wossnames in the second photo are like tiny little birds.

Real snow on the ornaments makes them look special.

[The purple spiral is] a small Christmas ornament.

The mildly deranged penguin is so disappointed! She was certain it was the quite rare Purple Cheese Hail, discovered and named by the great explorer known only as “Alice” (no relation to the Wonderland lady). It’s distantly related to the Purple People Eater, but is quite tame, safe, and tasty. She says the “Hail” part of the name is because Alice found the first specimen after a hailstorm, and presumed it came down with the hailstones. Given its extreme rarity, partly caused being ate almost immediately — they are quite tasty and need no preparation other than rinsing off any accumulated dirt — no-one’s been able to directly disprove Alice’s hypothesis. Its origins and breeding grounds are unknown, albeit it is commonly thought to migrate, or at least run out of the bushes and yell Boo!
