Aack! I’m afraid I would stay up nights worrying about Their Rattinesses. I know there are some pigments that are less toxic than others but this is the very reason I started painting where my cat could not reach it. :-) She is QUITE fond of drinking the water left over from my watercolors… You are a brave and very knowledgeable person! Because I am quite certain that you know these pigments won’t hurt them. It would not stop me from worrying, however… I am just built like that.
No, standard paints (water and acrylic) won’t hurt them. I’ve come to the conclusion that most anything won’t hurt rats, they eat effing superglue. I do keep the actual toxic stuff locked away, earth pigments and material for making my own paint. Rats *love* paint, which is why I keep everything locked up when I’m not using it.
Gracie was just up on my table and helped herself to some purple paint, and left a couple little toe prints, too. Eeesh.
Animals in general really like black paint, I expect it’s the carbon, or the bone, if you have bone based black. Other colours they won’t touch, so I trust they know. As for paint water, oh gods, you can’t keep anyone out of paint water. I’ve drunk it myself (by accident, I’ve also washed brushes in my tea), and in fairness, it’s pretty tasty.
LOL! OK, I have (while trying to worm some livestock animal or other) wormed myself. I’ve also given myself shots while trying to vaccinate an animal. But so far, anyway, I have not yet drunk my paint water! Apparently I have not lived. I need to try harder! :-D

It’s better than starbucks’ coffee and is about the same color, I can see how anyone might get them confused.

Just boil some rat poop in water and add skim soy milk.
Fat free, sugar free, taste free but still has more calories than blueberry muffins!
The horses look great. They look like the essence of horse.
I tried Starbucks once and was utterly confuzzled by their service. Why do they ask for my name and write it on the cup?

Thanks, Love. I’m feeling more comfortable doing them now. I’m going to have pull my studio about again, to figure out how to group them on the quilt fabric. It’s going to be interesting trying to figure out space for that monster piece of fabric. :D

The shading on the blue one is fantastic in this photo -- I saw the finished test-painting and it looked a bit different, but I like it here especially.
