I don’t like window slats*, but the play of light and shadow in this photo is wonderful.

* They’re ugly and a pain in the ass to clean. I admit, also good at keeping radiative heat out.

I agree. That said, I love the photo!
The rays of light focused by a lens(?) are especially neat.
And yes, I don’t want trash anyone’s choices in interior design. I stand behind my opinion, but acknowledge that window slats may be the optimal solution to some problems, and my taste isn’t the law. My (rented) apartment has metal window slats and I dislike them and keep them up most of the time. Curtains let me have darkness while my herbs get light.
Yeah, that’s a lens in the upper right corner that’s causing that pattern. Don’t know what exactly it’s doing there, since I can’t think of any reason why eye-glasses wouldn’t be of more use in the context, but at a certain time of year and a certain time of day, and provided the sky is clear, this is what happens.
