The first is just adorable, looking from behind the bud. As green as the foliage.
The second while not actually all that different, looks like a small Elder God with its near-the-ground camouflage.

The second one was fairly large, about 7-8 cm long. I’m pretty sure it’s a Carolina Locust. The local farmers will be upset if they know I’m providing sanctuary…
