Looks like catnip. We had some growing wild in the front yard last year and the feral cats never let it grow and would lie next to it all the time. Since we do most of our bird watching in the front I moved the plants to the back yard and let the cats go to town there instead.

You know your catmint! Yes, it is, along with other mints. They grow in wild abundance here. It’s a bit early yet, but when you have Goldfinches, watch them -- they grip tight on a stem, and start pulling the seeds out, which are really sticky. It’s entertaining!

I guess the bees see the flowers as mostly ultraviolet with violet spots. Lots of little green tentacles.

    The last one is mmmh-bzzz.

Mm, love the colour palette in these. Very quiet, understated, peaceful. Contemplative and full of concentration. :)
