Part of her style is reminescent of Orthodox icon painting, though icons aren’t supposed to be so full of various elements. In fact, my first thought was that she’s Russian. Turns out she isn’t.

Ha, same here (or some strain of Slavic, at any rate…). Interesting how that works.
(Vaguely reminiscent of some Klimt -- it’s the geometry and the black accents -- but the stark colour palette and the sharp definition leave an impact all its own.)
