    And gorgeous colors again (bird and the background). That first photo is computer wallpaper worthy.

    Beatrix Potter would have painted that dove with a shopping basket held in its wing.

    The last one is adorable with the left foot down. The mourning doves are shapely birds.

    Thank you! Mourning Doves are so beautiful, and they are curious and responsive birds. They are small, for doves, about 12 inches. The males have those lovely patches of iridescent colouring. A couple of years ago, a pair built their nest outside my studio window, and I got a daily, close up view of the babes, it was wonderful. They take turns sitting the nest to incubate the eggs, the men get the dayshift, and the women get the nightshift.
