Spot the Bird!

From Crimson Clupeidae, beautiful desert. In the first shot, you’ll definitely need to click for full size. “Can you find (and identify) the bird here?” (I found the bird right away, and my guess is Roadrunner.)

And a beautiful shot of the sun behind a saguaro.

At low res I couldn’t decide if the bird was in the centre of the pic or was that stick just behind the prickly pear. Both have a similar angle and shade. And the pic of the saguaro is a ripper.

    Cool shots!

Yeah, that looks like a roadrunner. But where’s the road? In fact, how could roadrunners evolve before there were roads? Checkmate evolutionists!

The dinosaur is hiding in plain sight.

Beautiful scenery(, but painful to the touch?)! Nice play with the light in the saguaro pic.

Thanks. Either roadrunners (did you know they are part of the cuckoo family?) are much more common now than when I moved away from Az, or I’m noticing them a lot more.

They’ve always been one of my favorite birds, and I see one almost every time I go for a hike or bike ride these days.

Also, way more cooper’s hawks lately. Still trying to get a good shot of one.

I see coyotes and javalina in my neighborhood all the time!

Today, however, was the first time I saw a mule deer. It was maybe 100 yards from my house. I’m going to have to find a hiding blind and sit with my camera some morning. :)

BTW, it’s supposed to hit 117F here this weekend.
