The colours like are grackle colours inverted. Here we have cuckoos which have a falcon-like plumage that the males use to distract the victims while the female lays an egg in the nest.
The iridescent wings look especially good.
They are pretty birds,* but the whole parasite thing…I don’t like anything that messes with the local songbird population.
I had to look up Cuckoos, they mimic Sparrowhawks very well. Then I got distracted by a link on the wiki page to Sumer Is Icumen In.
*The males anyway. The females are a speckly matte brown.
*strong British accent*

It is. They have the same iridescence that grackles do, but not as intense.
I was distracted by your mention of “Sumer Is Icumen In.” I immediately thought of the Sumerian civilization. :D
