I’ve been called as a witness to the court martial of Private Bradley Manning, so I’m doing an AMA (“ask me anything”) on Reddit today. I’ll be answering questions all day as they come up, and I’ll try to do it as quickly as possible. The full archive of my answers so far can be found here. Ask away!
My work focuses on insights to be found across transgender sociology, public health, psychiatry, history of medicine, cognitive science, the social processes of science, transgender feminism, and human rights, taking an analytic approach that intersects these many perspectives and is guided by the lived experiences of transgender people. I live in Orlando with my family, and work mainly in technical writing.

I did not know that federal prosecutors were so heavily involved in taking down character witnesses on felony perjury charges, but that seems to be the general consensus on reddit and most of them claim to be lawyers so I guess it’s legit.
I seriously doubt that so many of the reddit crown are lawyers. I work with a whole bunch of lawyers, and can tell you with certainty that none of them would have as much as heard of Reddit.
That was weird. Reddit is not normally that closed minded. It took me a while to work out that it was you, though..I was weird – I didn’t open the links initially, and when I saw your name in the chat with Bradley Manning, it was like…I know that name (light slowly turning on…).
So many wannabe lawyers shouting their heads off, meanwhile Zinnia’s comments have been downvoted to hell. I’ve hardly ever seen such a fucked-up Reddit thread outside of the really horrible sub-reddits. #furrfu

I haven’t learned this much about the law since last night’s Yaz lawsuit infomercials.

[…] did not know that one of our own, Zinnia Jones, had carried on a correspondence with Bradley Manning, but she did, and now she’s going to […]
Is that Bradley or Breanna Manning?
What the hell just happened? Goodness me, redditt… wow.

Reddit got real ugly. This is casting a dark ass shadow over the whole site for me. Sorry this happened like this, Zinna.
Or Zinnia, sorry for typoing your name.
Wow, that was…something.
Fuckaroo!
This is why I prefer Slashdot.
