Latest poll shows little support for shutdown over Obamacare

They’ve been warned by those who came before them, but fervent belief in a miracle outweighed common sense as the Teaparty managed to talk itself into thinking a shutdown over Obamacare would have wide support and punish the WH. Why wouldn’t they believe that? They believe Obama is responsible for everything bad and a lot of other “bad” stuff they just made up, and they think everyone agrees with them. The latest poll shows that that belief is slated for painful destruction in the reality-based wood chipper:

The Hill — While a majority of people in the United States oppose the government shutdown that took effect Tuesday at midnight, Democrats could benefit from it, according to a new poll.

Seventy-two percent of respondents say they oppose shutting down the federal government in order block implementation of ObamaCare, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday.

Seventy-two percent oppose shutting down government over Obamacare as opposed to only 22% that support it, similar numbers on the looming debt ceiling by the way. Full tabs are here in .pdf.

These are the same people who still think Bush legitimately won in 2000 and that invading Iraq was the best idea since sliced bread.

There has to be a catchy way the mainstream media can cover this:

This is the same Tea Party that convinced itself within its echo chamber that the polls were wrong in predicting that Obama would win re-election and that the Senate would be Democrat.

How astonishing that they haven’t learnt from history. (/sarcasm)
