Woops, Dallas Teaparty let’s it rip

Via the Houston Chronicle, Battlefield Texas is making the GOP nervous, so they had a big wig come up and speak in the conservative enclave of Dallas-Plano. Here’s what one person said afterwards about Black voters:

Take Texas GOP chairman Steve Munisteri‘s efforts to drum up support for “Battlefield Dallas,” an attempt by Dallas Republicans to counter the Battleground Texas push. Munisteri flew up to Dallas for an event and said all the right things during his speech. It was billed of “the first public meeting of Battlefield Dallas.”

But a Tea Party Republican made the headlines when he had this to say about GOP voter outreach efforts.

“I’m going to be real honest with you, the Republican Party doesn’t want black people to vote if they’re going to vote 9-to-1 for Democrats,” Ken Emanuelson said.

Battleground Texas didn’t miss an opportunity to capitalize on the gaffe — they want you to listen to the audio of the event for yourself.

This is exactly what tons of my conservative brethren expend much wasted breath denying to my virtual face. Maybe if they could find a better way to say it, by rebranding the racism, or perhaps talking about it on Facebook so that young people would be more engaged …

Talk about the original self-fulfilling prophecy!

I live in a very conservative county. Despite that, I still want everyone to vote. To take any other position would be anti-democratic.

But since the Tea Party Republicans have equated pro-democratic with pro-Democratic, they have decided that their anti-Democratic philosophy must embrace anti-democratic tactics.

That’s not a gaffe – he intentionally said something evil and anti-democratic because that’s how he really feels.

@3 – Actually, I think it is even more simple than that. I think the motto is “Win at all costs!” without the slightest thought or care of what they give up as humans by charging after that…

What’s even more sad is most of them won’t even understand why that statement is wrong.

The Republicans would welcome black voters with open arms if they were voting Republican. It’s all about winning, and disconnecting the Federal money-pipes from the outgoing administration’s cronies to reroute them to your own cronies. Any current politician who repeated Henry Clay’s statement that he’d rather be right than President would be literally laughed at.

Did you know that’s a euphemism for flatulence? Seems apt Tea Party~wise!. ;-)

Well the Republican voting base is now the party and they are simple people with poor educations through their own refusal to be educated regardless of whether they have had educational ‘experiences’ in institutions of higher learning or not. They don’t like none of them that do like that and just ain’t right like us and ain’t gunna givem none of what they got without a fight goddammit. The sad old patrician and grifters that once ran the party and used the yahoos to stay in power have lost hold of the reins on frightened mount in a thunder storm and are just holding on hoping to regain control before the crazed animal runs under a low branch.

The saying goes, “A drunken man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts.”

The teabaggers are clearly drunk on power, so intoxicated that they think they can get away with saying things like this.

To be fair I think he might have hopefully meant “I’m going to be real honest with you, the Republican Party doesn’t want (to register) black people to vote (with our sponsored outreach efforts) if they’re going to vote 9-to-1 for Democrats”. Right?

I doubt it. I think he is a scared racist coward and he knows the future holds little and no power for him and his fellows.
