The fruits of perfect faith

Listen to this man of god.

The reverend Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, N.C., was filmed on a YouTube rant, reportedly filmed on May 13 condemning President Barack Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage. Worley called for LGBTQ people to be put in an electrified pen and ultimately killed off.

“Build a great, big, large fence — 150 or 100 mile long — put all the lesbians in there,” Worley said.

“Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out…and you know what, in a few years, they’ll die out…do you know why? They can’t reproduce!”

Worley said that if he’s asked who he’ll vote for, he’ll reply, “I’m not going to vote for a baby killer and a homosexual lover!”

In the background a significant number of the audience can be heard cheering and saying, “Amen.”

Gamers pwn anti-LGBT bigotry, w00t!

A while back various groups dragging the word “family” through the dirt were pissed at Bioware for the inclusion of same-sex relationships in Star Wars: The Old Republic.  They were all calling for a boycott of Bioware for daring to note that same-sex relationships, y’know…happen.  Fortunately, Bioware was able to tell them, pretty much without a hint of concern, to take a hike.

Why?  Because gamers don’t give a shit.

Seven out of ten gamers are comfortable with same-sex relationships in games, according to a new survey of IGN readers.

When asked if the controversial theme of same-sex relationships has a place in games, 69% of respondents to a recent IGN survey said either ‘absolutely’ or ‘why not’ Only 9% said that same-sex relationships should “never” be in games.

You may see me or other gamers use the term “w00t!” in celebration.  The term originated as an acronym during games like counter-strike back in the day.  It stood for, “We Owned the Other Team.”

In the face of a boycott doomed to failure because the gamer community doesn’t share their prejudice, I can’t think of a better thing to say than, “w00t!”  :)   The concept of family doesn’t include hating others for the non-crime of loving who they please.

Well-played, gamers.  You’re my kind of people.

What my dogs were doing

Here is what my dogs were doing when I came home from work today.

Book update

I’ve cracked the 4,000-word barrier.  I also think I’ve settled on the title “Unapologetic.”  Should I have a subtitle?  I’m leaning toward no.  Any ideas for one?

“A world friendly to reason is a world where lazy thinking is met with immediate and unmitigated disapproval whether the culprit is a theist or not.”

Guild Wars 2 looks awesome

For most gamers who have grown to despise the once-noble Blizzard, and even for many World of Warcraft players, there is a thought that beats like a drum in the back of our skulls everywhere we go: “die WoW, die!”  I had hoped that SWTOR would be WoW’s undoing, and while SWTOR is fun with friends and got a lot right, admittedly it lacks WoW’s polish.

The new hope for the gamer kingdom is Guild Wars 2, and it looks good.

Atheist meme of today

Remember back when Greta used to do the atheist meme of the day?  I’m not sure I have the creativity to revive it, but stuff like this from my dad makes me think about it.

This is how the right debases political and moral debates in this country. Liberals says, “We want to keep violent criminals from buying guns” and a conservative will claim we said, “Ban all guns.” Liberals say, “We want everyone to have access to healthcare” and a conservative will claim we said, “Kill the sick and elderly.” Liberals say, “America is open to all religions, not just Christianity” and a conservative will claim we said, “Ban Christianity and the Bible.”

In their defense, they have to chase phantoms.  The phantoms they create are just as unreasonable as they are, and so it evens the playing field.

Whoops! Dad’s status came from an addictinginfo article and I missed it. Will dig it up here in a few and link to it.

Anti-evolution bill in Missouri gets better treatment than it deserves, but it’s dead all the same

Remember that anti-evolution bill in Missouri that all you beautiful, beautiful Missourians raised hell about?

Yeah, it died in a ball of fire, which was still too good for it.  All the same, it’s dead.

Move over Jesus, Tebow’s in town

Tim Tebow is suing the makers of a tshirt for using Tebow’s likeness without his permission.  Here are the shirts.

I see the word “my” and the word “Jesus” and a Jesus fish…but no “Tim” or “Tebow” or Tebow’s face.

There can be only one explanation: Tim Tebow is Jesus, and instead of wrathful and powerful the second coming is whiny and annoying.

How full of yourself do you have to be to think you have a copyright on Jesus?

On Dogma Debate tonight

Tonight I’ll be on Dogma Debate with David Smalley at 7pm EST.  Not sure if he allows call-ins.  Tune in if you want to hear me rant in non-text.  :P

Diablo 3 later?

I’m loafing today.  It’s awesome.

I have the starter install of Diablo III.  My battle.net address is wwjtd21[at]gmail[dot]com.  My battletag is Zerowing#2770.

Who all is up for leveling some lowbies later?

Turns out if you’re playing on a guest pass (as I am) then you can’t group with “real” players.  Sorry guys.
