The woman ‘challenged god’s orders’, because she didn’t want to become a walking coffin or a garbage bag. So, she had to die.
Bangladesh is an Islamic country but banned Jamaat-e-Islami, the Islamic political party. Egypt should learn from Bangladesh and ban Muslim Brotherhood. There is almost no difference between the ideologies of Maulana Maududi’s Jamaat-e-Islami and Hasan al Banna’s Muslim Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood and Jama’at-i Islami are separate movements that tend to draw the bulk of their members from different ethnic groups (Arabs and South Asians, respectively). Nevertheless, both groups are rooted in a political ideology, frequently described as “Islamist,” that calls for the establishment of a distinctly Islamic system of government.
The Muslim Brotherhood is without question the world’s most influential modern Islamist organization. Founded in Egypt in 1928 by schoolteacher Hassan al-Banna, the group advocates the embrace of Islam as a way to promote both personal development and broader social reform. Initially a religious and social organization, the Muslim Brotherhood quickly became politicized. Its ideology, which calls for establishing Islamic states based on shari’a (or Islamic) law, became the basis for virtually all Islamist movements. The group’s standard slogan, “Islam is the solution,” expresses the movement’s emphasis on the systematic application of Islam to all facets of life.
Soon after it was founded, the Muslim Brotherhood spread beyond the confines of Egypt, eventually establishing branches in nearly every country in the Arab world. In addition, it also provided the ideological basis for a number of other prominent Islamist movements outside the Arab world, including the Pakistan-based group Jama’at-i Islami, broadly translated as “Islamic society.”
If you want true democracy, you have to have secularism. And if you have secularism, it means you have strictly separated state from religion. And if you do that, you can not have politics based on religion, because almost all religions are basically anti-women, anti-science,anti-democracy, anti-rationality, anti-equality, anti-humanity. You can not allow it to rule the world and destroy every good thing that we have built so far. Muslim Brotherhood and Jamaat-e-Islami want theocracy, not democracy. They do not believe in women’s equal rights and people’s right to criticize Islam, they want sharia laws or Islamic laws or 7th century’s barbaric laws that are against women’s rights and human rights. Their agenda is to convert the whole world to darul Islam, the land of Islam. They want democracy just long enough to replace it with theocracy.
Come on! Who doesn’t know democracy is the solution! But not in those lands where you have brainwashed people with anti democratic religion for centuries! First you ban the political parties that are based on religion then you welcome democracy. Fascist Nazi party is banned in Europe. Muslim Brotherhood and Jamaat-e-Islami are not better than Nazi. You should know that religion and fascism work hand in hand.
Al-Qaeda’s chief bomb-maker Ibrahim al-Asiri is thought to have developed explosives that can be concealed in breast implants and escape detection from airport scanners.
Too much trouble for airline passengers! Because there was a twin tower attack, we still have to wait in a long queue and get vigorously checked at the airport security checkpoints. Because there was a shoe bomber, we still have to take off our shoes. Now, because there is a new breast bomb threat, we, most likely, are going to be harassed again. Are the airport security personals planning to give us hard breast massage or what?
I do not think al-Qaida is capable of doing any thing big any more. Dead lions roaring! There is no need to take their threats too seriously. I hope the breast bomb threat is like fake anthrax threat or fake underwear bomb threat.
Ass bombs? No, I am not interested. I am waiting for brain bombs. If those bombs can make terrorist brains change.
Perhaps you know about Sufism. And how Sufism was replaced by Islamic fanaticism in the Indian subcontinent.
Listen to a Sufi song. My favourite.
This song is about Bulleh Shah, the Sufi poet who was asking to demolish temples and mosques. He was against all religious rituals. And very fond of alcohol. Once upon a time he was respected by people of different faiths.
If Bulleh Shah were alive today, he would have been killed by radical Islamists.

The polls show that most Muslims are not peaceful. They may not involve themselves in terrorist acts, but a large number of Muslims support violence and women’s oppression. Whatever the polls say, I still believe Muslims will be better people if they get secular scientific education, if they live in secular state, under secular laws, and if they start learning about democracy, women’s rights and free speech when they are just little children.
Amina Wadud is called Islamic feminist. I personally do not think any devout Muslim can be a feminist. The reason for my doubt is, all religions including islam are anti-Women.
Amina Wadud is a veiled Muslim. She has been fighting for the right of Muslim women to become Imams. She made her dreams come true, she led some mixed-gender prayers.
It is not easy to do because Islam as one of the misogynistic religions is against female leadership. Amina Wadud has so far managed to play the role of Imam in some prayers though, but obviously fanatics haven’t appreciated it. They do not want to stand behind a woman. Why should they? Allah himself placed men above women. Accepting female leadership means ignoring Allah the almighty.
It is preferable for women to pray in congregation, led by another woman, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told Umm Waraqah to lead the women of her household in Prayer. There is some difference among scholars on this matter. (See Al-Mughni, 2/202 and Al-Majmu`, 4/84-85) The woman leading the Prayer should read aloud as long as no non-mahram man can hear her. It is permissible for women to go out and pray in the mosque with men, although their Prayer at home is better, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Do not prevent the women from going out to the mosques, even though their homes are better for them.”
Imam An-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: “Women differ from men in congregational Prayer in some ways:
a) Congregational Prayer is not required of them in the same way as it is of men.
b) In case a woman leads a group of women in Prayer, she stands in the middle of the (first) row.
c) If one woman led by a man, she should stand behind him, not next to him.
d) If women are praying in rows behind men, the back rows are better for them than the front rows.” (Al-Majmu`, 3/455)
Nothing fails like prayers. If women lead Muslim prayers, Islam will not turn from misogynistic to egalitarian religion, or the fiction will not be facts. It will remain as unscientific, unequal, unethical, inhuman as it is today. But still Amina Wadud’s right to express her opinions on female leading Islamic prayers should not be violated. But her right has been violated only because some Muslim fanatics who believe in the acts of violence and no free speech do not want her speak.
Amina Wadud is not alone. Other freethinkers are also not allowed to speak their mind. I have been prevented to live in West Bengal only because some fanatics might get unhappy if I do. Once the authority fulfills their weird wishes to shut one’s mouth, they believe they have now the right to continue shutting others’ mouths. And it becomes a trend.
If you love your country and people, please don’t let the religious fanatics to go unopposed. If you want well-being of humanity, you will not let the fanatics win.
I just love this excellent letter written by Pakistani journalist Kunwar Khuldune Shahid. Such a wonderful response to those ‘educated’ women who are proud of being veiled Muslims and who foolishly defend Islam, the anti-women religion. The author of this letter is a man. I am proud of men like Kunwar Khuldune, who believe in women’s rights.
I don’t have words to express my gratitude and appreciation for your noble battle against evil. Your #MuslimahPride movement against #Femen was a slap on the collective face of Western imperialists who believe that Muslim women can’t fight for a cause. It was also a resounding reminder for the rest of the world that you have what it takes to spark a revolution. What the ignorant world does not realise is that once you have the permission of your husbands, fathers, brothers, uncles, the approval of your neighbours, in-laws, their relatives and the consent of your spiritual guardians, their God and their scriptures, you can be quite the rebels.
It takes a lot of courage to ridicule something that is already taboo where you live. It takes volumes of bravery and valour to bow down to the status quo, and toe the lines that have been forced upon you. It takes unbelievable amounts of gallantry to act out a script that someone else has written for you. And it must take guts and the proverbial cojones to take a stand against cruelty and the personification of tyranny that a horde of topless women is.
Who on earth are those damn Europeans to try to steal your voice? Do they not realise that your lives were defined a million-and-a-half ago by the Arabs, who protected your rights and guarded your modesty by ensuring that you don’t have much of a say in most things? Who are those unabashed infidels to protest on your behalf? Do they not realise that you are not allowed to express, let alone clamour in favour of, anything that contradicts the ostensibly divine scriptures? Who are those shameless activists to try and liberate you? Do they not realise that you can’t be liberated without the permission of your mehrams?
I can’t thank you enough for choosing to be more offended by naked bodies than dead bodies. And since there are so many different kinds of you to thank, I’ll try to address you one by one.
Dear ‘guardians of modesty’ Muslimaat, thank you for letting patriarchal societies define ‘modesty’ for you. Thank you for accepting contrasting definitions of modesty for men and women, and for not being a source of strength for your sisters and daughters, vindicating the men’s claim of you being the weaker sex. Thank you for teaching your daughters about the sin that having sex is, throughout their lives, and then compelling them to do it immediately with a man they first met a couple of hours ago, after signing a few papers and getting the clergy’s approval. Also, thank you for blaming your fellow women when they are raped, since men have the divine license to refuse to keep their emotions in the right place. And thank you very very much for being more misogynistic than any male chauvinist can ever possibly be.
Dear ‘feminist’ Muslimaat, thank you for being a ray of hope for bacon-eating vegetarians, god-fearing atheists and peace-loving terrorists. Thank you for reiterating the fact that your mehrams choose to overlook the divine orders and allow you to think freely and take your own decisions. Thank you for citing your personal example to highlight how you wear the hijab by your own choice, ignoring the fact that an overwhelming majority of Muslim women are coerced into doing so. Thank you very much for making the whole debate about you, when it was always about the torment and suffering that most of the Muslim women are going through.
Dear ‘liberal’ Muslimaat, thank you for defying the orders of your deity by choosing to not cover your heads. Thank you for disregarding other restrictions that your religion commands, and then having the audacity to condemn someone who is critical of these very commands. Thank you for cherry picking the commandments and making your ideology sound compatible with the 21st century, only to castigate those that take the same ideological orders literally and implement them. Thanks a lot for elucidating that you don’t need liberation and for paying no heed to the fact that the most of the women in your country do. And thank you very much for clinging on to those very shackles that have enchained the prospect of women empowerment in your country.
Dear ‘revolutionary’ Muslimaat, thank you for ignoring the life threats that Amina Tyler and many others like her are facing, after choosing to protest against the harassment that they have to bear on a daily basis. Thank you for overlooking other lesser issues like terrorists attacking a 15-year-old schoolgirl; female genital mutilation; women being raped with judicial approval just so they don’t die virgins; two-year-old girls being forced to wear veils because the disgusting men in your country have no self-control; and fathers legally getting away with raping their daughters by paying a few riyals. Thank you very much for screaming bloody murder over half-naked women’s claim of representing you, but accepting rapists, pedophiles and sorry excuses for human beings as your state leaders and role models.
#MuslimahPride is not just a hashtag, it’s a symbol of integrity and pride. It’s about taking pride in inequality, in half testimonies, in blaming rape victims and in gender discrimination. It’s about taking pride in chauvinism, where men have divine permission to beat and rape their wives, marry multiple times and possess slave girls. It’s about taking pride in patriarchal societies where husbands are categorically told in detail how they should punish their “disobedient” wives, while not a single text exclusively tells women what they should do with unfaithful husbands. It’s about taking pride in not being allowed to vote, let alone lead your nations, and about finally being allowed to ride a goddamn bicycle – under a mehram’s supervision – in the year 2013 AD.
The #MuslimahPride jihad will be written down in history as the moment where Muslimaat made it clear to the world that no one should protest on their behalf, half-naked or otherwise. Thank you, dear Muslimaat, for saving the rest of the world’s time by clarifying that you’re fine living in the 7th century AD, and no one should push you towards the enlightened times, regardless of whether they have clothes on or not. Thank you for being a source of inspiration and an illuminating example for everyone. We all know that you have what it takes to transform the plight of the women and change the dynamics of the world, as long as you are back home before sunset.
More power to you.
PS: I hope being addressed as ‘dear’ does not land you in trouble with your oversensitive male guardians.
Kunwar Khuldune Shahid
Muslims give more money to charity. than people of other religions. The survey has been done only in the UK, so Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and other lion-hearted atheist donors are not in the list. It can be true that Muslims give more money to charity than people of other religions.
More than three in 10 Muslims, Catholics and Jews donated money during 2012, ICM Research found.
Followers of Islam gave an average of $567 compared to Jewish givers who donated around $412, according to the survey of just over 4,000 people in the U.K.
Christians gave considerably less. Protestants donated an average of $308, while Roman Catholics gave around $272, the poll found. Atheists averaged just $177.
In total 4,036 people answered the question: “How much, if at all, would you say you generally donated to charities last year?”
Respondents were asked to exclude buying items from charity stores or sponsoring someone for a charity activity.
The finding follows a recent Pew Research Center survey of more than 38,000 Muslims in 39 countries, which found that 77 percent said they donated to charity.
Data from the online platform JustGiving.com also shows that Muslims are increasingly using online methods for their Zakat — the Muslim practice of charitable donations — with a growth of close to 70 percent over the last two years.
“Our data shows many of Britain’s Muslim communities are at the forefront of digital giving, driving an increase in Zakat donations,” Zarine Kharas, their CEO explained.
I am happy for those Muslims who give charity and for those who receive it. It’s such a great thing for humanity. But why do Muslims give charity? Is it because they care about humanity? Maybe it is not important what motivates them to be so generous, they are generous, that’s the great thing. But my curious mind doesn’t stop here. It starts to find the reason of Muslims being kind and nice. The reason is: Allah asks Muslims to give zakat from the part of their income to poor Muslims. Muslims follow the orders of Allah because Allah promises them heaven if they do.
Muslims have to believe in five pillars of Islam if they want to go to heaven. The pillars are: (1). Believing in the Oneness of Allah and that Muhammad as His Prophet; (2). Offering daily five prayers to Allah; (3) Fasting in the month of Ramadan; (4). Giving Zakat [alms] to the indigent Muslims and (5) Performing Hajj in Mecca at least once in one’s lifetime, if one is physically able to do it.
Would they give zakat to poor non-Muslims or poor atheists? They would not. They would have given, if they were really concerned about humanity. But it is not the case. They ask poor Muslims whom they give zakat to pray for them so that they can go to heaven.
Syed Kamran Mirza gives vivid pictures of heaven where Muslims are desperate to go.
Zakat goes to poor Muslims, zakat also goes to build mosques and madrassas, and goes to Jihad. A percentage of zakat must go towards Jihad. — It is one of the common laws of Islamic Sharia which is practiced in the Sharia-based countries.
The Hadith says:
Heaven has 8 doors. He who prayed will be called from the door of prayer. He who paid zakat will be called from the door of zakat. He who fought will be called from the door of jihad.
Sahih Bukhari; No. 1214.
The laws of Arab Muslim countries can be terribly barbaric! Women get whipped for their crime of being raped. I thought Dubai would be different. Foreigners are more in number than native Arabs. But the land’s barbaric laws are still used for everyone including foreigners come from civilized countries. A Norwegian girl raped by a man in Dubai, was sentenced to 16 months in prison and the rapist was sentenced to 13 months in prison. Under barbaric laws people get punished for having sex outside marriage, and more shocking thing is victims get punished for being tortured, abused and raped.
It seems there is no such thing called rape or sex with or without consent in Islamic dictionary. It seems for the ancient Arab tribes, the consent was not at all necessary for sex. What was necessary was to have sex within marriage. If sex occurs outside marriage, no matter whether it is because of rape or relationships, punishment would be the same..
Rape cases are impossible to prove in the Islamic court. Because the court needs four male witnesses to prove a rape case. It is highly unlikely that a rapist would rape in front of four male witnesses who could give testimony against him later in the court. Arab countries still punish people for having consensual sex outside marriage. Rape is considered nothing but adultery or ‘sex outside marriage’. Raped girls get punished as well as rapists for having ‘sex outside marriage’. The Islamic courts can not treat a rape as a rape. The law could be different if there was no scandal involving Aisha, Muhammad’s youngest wife, some 1400 years ago.
The scandal was documented in the Hadith (Sahih Muslim, Book 37, Number 6673; Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 48, Number 829).
Aisha was once travelling with a group of Muslims, and she was one day left behind. She was found later and taken to her caravan. Muslims started talking about Aisha that she was having sex with a man, and that was the reason she was left behind. Aisha strongly denied this accusation. But people continued accusing Aisha of having adultery. Muhammad then came to defend Aisha. She was not just an ordinary woman. After all she was one of the wives of the prophet of Islam. The Quranic revelations were then revealed in which Aisha was declared innocent.
Quran 24: 13-16
Why did they not bring four witnesses of it? But as they have not brought witnesses they are liars before Allah. And were it not for Allah’s grace upon you and His mercy in this world and the hereafter, a grievous chastisement would certainly have touched you on account of the discourse which you entered into. When you received it with your tongues and spoke with your mouths what you had no knowledge of, and you deemed it an easy matter while with Allah it was grievous. And why did you not, when you heard it, say: It does not beseem us that we should talk of it; glory be to Thee! this is a great calumny?
And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses – lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept from them testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient.
In order to prove adultery or similar types of sexual misconduct, four male witnesses should be produced. Male witnesses are necessary, not female witnesses. Because the Quran says, the testimony of a female is at most worth half that of a man’s. (Quran 2:282).
The rule of four witnesses was intended to protect Muslim women from being falsely labeled as having had forbidden intercourse. Unfortunately the same rule was applied to the rule of rape. If a woman makes complaints of rape will need to produce four male witnesses to prove her case against her rapist. If she cannot produce four witnesses, her case turns into a adultery crime and is thus punished accordingly.
A former member of Muslim association that was approved by Muslim brotherhood expressed his opinion on rape issue:
There’s also an impression, among a large number of Muslim followers, that if a woman is raped, it’s usually her fault; that her mere presence in the street without a veil, for example, has ‘tempted’ the poor man to rape her. A notorious example of this mentality among Western Muslims is a 7th century misogynistic Australian barbarian called Taj El-Din Al-Hilali, who said in a Friday sermon that if a woman gets raped, it is mostly the woman’s fault because she wasn’t in her home. He also said:
“If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it … whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat? The uncovered meat is the problem.”
Bigots come and go, but what’s disturbing in his case is that he is a leading Muslim figure in Australia, and that the Friday after his remarks were publicized, 5000 Muslims in Australia actually cheered in support of his remarks. Other Muslim leaders supported him, too (example).
I will need to make it clear and obvious that raping Muslim women is absolutely forbidden in Islam. However, there are some Muslims who go on raping rampages on non-Muslim women in Western countries, and they find justification for it, partly because “it’s the woman’s fault for going out without the veil”, and partly because of verses like Quran 4:24 and Quran 23:6, which permit a Muslim male to take non-Muslim women after a battle and keep them as war booty and as slaves.
All countries change their laws, make them better and modern. But Islamic laws remain stagnant in many Muslim countries. Because these laws are believed as divine laws, made by Allah. Changing laws mean challenging Allah.
Aren’t we supposed to become more civilized, more equal, more rational than before? How many more years will we allow religion to stop our thinking mind and to abuse humanity?
Mosques are dangerous. It is better not to go to mosques for prayers. Mosques are now the biggest target for Islamic terrorist attacks. A suicide bomber blew himself up inside a Sunni mosque in central Iraq, killing at least 20 people in the middle of a sermon on Friday.
Don’t forget about the other mosque blasts.
These are just a few of the hundreds of mosque blasts.
Mosques are called Allah’s houses. Allah’s houses are not safe. Non-Muslims or non-believers rarely attack mosques. Most of the times Mosques are bombed by believers of Allah to kill believers of Allah.
