The world is changed.

The world is changed. We sane people get harassed, arrested, jailed, killed not because of our big books anymore but for our facebook or twitter one-liners. Fazil Say, a Turkish pianist, is sentenced to prison for a tweet.

In one tweet, Fazil Say joked about Azan, a call to prayer that he said lasted only 22 seconds. Say tweeted: “Why such haste? Have you got a mistress waiting or a raki on the table?” Raki is a traditional alcoholic drink made with aniseed. Islam forbids alcohol and many Islamists consider the remarks unacceptable.

The charges against Say also cited other tweets he sent, including one – based on a verse attributed to famous medieval poet Omar Khayyam – that questioned whether heaven was a tavern or a brothel, because of the promises that wine will flow and each believer will be greeted by virgins.

It is indeed a sad day for Turkey, once a secular state.

And in India, another secular state, a criminal case was filed on the charges of hurting religious feelings of people and a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against me because of my tweet. The tweet was very innocent and simple: ‘Muslim women deserve to have sex with 72 virgin men on earth as they won’t get these things in heaven’.

The protectors of Islam have become the funniest jokers of the world.

Turkey is not a ‘secular state’ – as we understand as Ataturk intended. It has eroded with present PM- He is very Islamic and his wife is Hijabi- One of the main reason Turkey not yet an EU member. It was more secular with Army in charge.

For India – a different story. India is secular – but at a very high cost to the Hindu majority. It is more of a minority appeasement rather than full functioning secularism- a sad case

    .

Good fsm, the revisionist tactics of the Hindu right have paid off rich dividends. On one hand there is strong evidence that Hinduism has grown greatly in strength and yet we have complaints like above that the Hindu majority is facing some threat.

From the time, the Arabs, Turks and Mongols invaded Bharat, the country known as India today ceased to be secular. By the way, if the citizens of India don’t change their rustic mentality, the country will never be secular.

    My observation-

Hindus are disadvantaged majority of their own moth eaten country.
No effective Hindu right organisation exists in India -no evidence of Hinduism
gaining any strength either.Hindus don’t convert, quite the reverse, they get converted

Hindus force fed with usual hogwash of ‘secularism, minority rights etc.for a very long time.
Hindus can only blame themselves for this predicament .
