The Cat.

She is Minu, my adopted daughter.

She is an extraordinary cat. I wrote books on her. A famous film maker is going to make a film about her life. Many articles were written about her philosophy. She had a solo TV show. It was about her football. She was an excellent football player a couple years ago.
She is curious, courageous, fearless, adventurous, undaunted!
My friends say, ‘she is your daughter. Her characters are exactly like yours. It’s all about genetic inheritance.’

I am having chondromalacia on my knee joints. In the meantime Minu started having knee pain. She has been limping on her back legs for three weeks. Some X-rays are done. Her vet says, she has some degenerative changes in her knee joints. Obviously, she got my genes.
It is now terribly painful for her to walk.
I can have pain killer whenever I get pain.
She can not. Pain killer is poison for cats.

Some say, put her in sleep. I say, no.
I take her to different vets almost everyday to find some hope and to get her a better treatment.
People hate cats here. They love dogs but not desi dogs. They love Western dogs.
Probably vets do not know much about cats. Degenerative changes in her knees! Come on, she is only seven and half. Not even eight. The changes start after 12.
Some vets say, may be she has ligament sprains or tendonitis or blood parasites or disc prolapse! I do not know the reason of her pain. I will be the happiest person if treatments are available.

I will die if she dies.

You won’t have to say good bye to her. Good bye is the saddest word. She is cheerful, a little bouquet of joy.
She would be with you wherever you go.

    Lots of love.

I have a beautiful little girl (cat ) who suffers from poly arthritis and has had cat friendly painkillers before.
Tamgesic and methadone were two we used before her immune suppressant based treatment took effect.
My little Charlie girl is nearly fifteen. I know how you feel! That goodbye gets closer every day.

Sorry for your cat. Your cat seems to be very lucky, at least you have identified her disease but my cat died within five days and the disease was unknown.
My cat was super cat. I cant forget her.
Last year my friend’s cat had almost similar problem like your cat and cured after a successful surgery. I am sure you are an expert physician to decide where to treat your cat.
In my best knowledge the following hospital is the best for Cats.

    Merivale Cat Hospital
    1038 Merivale Rd.
    Ottawa, Ontario
    K1Z 6A7
    Canada

I hope your cat will get better soon. All the best!

If you can, try to find a vet (maybe not in your country unfortunately) that specializes in small mammals or cats specifically, and see if they’ll do a phone consultation with you. I used to work for a vet who was a fish specialist and she had people calling from out of the country frequently. It might be pricey, but it might be worth it as she’s pretty young still.

Minu is such a beautiful cat, and I am very sad that she has joint problems. Ask your vet whether s/he can prescribe Metacam. My own cat Molly suffered from arthritis in her later years, but our vet prescribed Metacam in liquid form. Just a few drops each day, and Molly’s arthritis hardly troubled her at all. Best of all (if you’ve ever tried to give medicine to a cat!), Metacam is sweet. My Molly used to lick it off my finger 🙂

What a beautiful, clever, sweet kitty.

My gorgeous but elderly and (managed) diabetic cat is on my lap, washing her paw. She’s been with me through a lot, and is such a comfort.

Cats are wonderful, I hope you can find a painkiller that works for her.

Best wishes from Germany for your cat, dear Taslima! Last year both my cats died, but they were 21 years old – long life for cats.
    Greetings,
    Christian

      @Christian (Rossi) —

21 years old! Both of them!
My cat died one month before her 2oth birthday and I thought she was an odd exception.
I was with her when she was born until she died of old age as a slightly grumpy old girl.

I hope that Taslima’s cat will get better — cats get more & more interesting when they get older (although mine did not get along very well with my kids “… nerviges junges Gemüse …”).

Cats are special. In the last few years I’ve lost two cats due to sickness associated with old age. I still have three. Two are younger, and one is my age, 18 years old. They’re all my babies, even if they’re as old as I am.

I hope you can find a good vet for Minu. Kitties deserve to feel healthy.

    Best wishes.

  9. Custard Flip says

Geez Taslima, that’s tough. I hope Minu will be treated and continue to live for many more years in good health.

I know that connection of human and cat. I have mine for a year now, and we’re very close. She was one of those sad sheltercases and really turned around after I adopted her. She’s almost 4 now, so still quite young, but 3 months after I adopted her the vet told me there was a possibility that she had feline AIDS.

She didn’t, thanks goodness, but when I think about how sad I was even then, I can’t begin to imagine what it would do to me to lose her at this point.

May everyones little ones live long and well, cats are very precious animals indeed.

Cats are so adorable, I can understand your attachment. I have two cats. They are my babies. They spread love like anything. And, i pray Minu will get treated and be alright soon!
