Not only The Daily Show makes fun of Fox News

A French satirical news show Le Petit Journal had fun with Fox News and a claim by one of their ‘experts’ that parts of Paris are no-go zones that look like Iraq or Afghanistan and are so dominated by violent and intolerant Muslims and that outsiders cannot enter those neighborhoods without fear or protection.

Taking great risks, the show sent out a crack team of reporters to those zones to see if they would survive and return with a report.

Bobby Jindal, one of the vast throng futilely seeking the Republican presidential nomination, is also pushing the idea of the existence of no-go zones in Europe. British Prime Minister David Cameron, when he heard about this ‘expert’s’ opinion on no-go zones said, “When I heard this frankly, I choked on my porridge and I thought it must be April Fools Day. This guy is clearly a complete idiot.” Since Jindal is due to give a speech in London where he says the same thing, one wonders if Cameron will call him an idiot to his face.

British comedian Russell Brand also takes after Fox News’s insane ranting, not surprising given that their boss is Rupert Murdoch.

Update: Fox News has issued a groveling apology.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Just a minute. Who let a non-blond female onto the set of Fox News?

What sucks about this is that they have no shame. I doubt they’ll even issue a pro forma retraction right before a commercial break on a saturday morning when nobody’s watching. They’ll definitely have the same “expert” back again to say some other nonsense. I wouldn’t even be all that surprised if they have him back to say the same nonsense.

This is simply the latest outrage to become part of the cannon of assumed facts the right takes as so obvious as to need no proof, defense, or evidence. So self-evidently true that only mental defect or gratuitous perversity could lead anyone to deny.

    Others include:
The Netherlands is a socialist hell and completely unlivable.
Health care in England is so backward and slow that it is essentially a third-world nation.
Free markets self-correct and self-regulate to exclude bad actors and protect the common good.
Private enterprise is automatically more efficient than government programs. Business will automatically compete instead of colluding and/or dividing up the market.
