Pigs on a plane!

I had known that you could take small pets on a plane as part of your carry-on luggage as long as they were in a suitable container but a 70lb pig? Jon Stewart discusses what happened when one such pig started acting up on a plane while in flight and manages to tie that story in with pig-related brazen political pandering by the governor of New Jersey.

This is a good example of why pigs simply shouldn’t be kept as pets. Many people are taken in by unscrupulous dealers who claim to be selling “miniature” or “teacup” pigs, which don’t actually exist. These are normal potbellied pigs which will, unless deliberately stunted via malnutrition, grow to an adult size of around 100 lbs. This is where many owners end up abandoning the animals.
