More signs of Congressional irrelevance

The Daily Show chronicles the continuing decline of Congress into a body that seems to be purely becoming a punching bag for comedians, such as producing over-the-top campaign ads

Jesus, that last one was pretty much gun porn. I just can’t understand the mentality behind that sort of ad; ‘look at how tough I am as I use the easiest killing implement ever invented, I’m so TUFF!’

Also, can anyone remind me of the movie the second clip spoofs? All I can remember is that it is a Tarantino.

I think the allusion is to Pulp Fiction, the first and only Tarantino film that I have seen.

    It’s a reference to
    Reservoir Dogs.

Unfortunately, a sizable percentage of gun owners are (proudly) single issue voters, they’ll vote for anyone who promises to uphold their right to bear arms.

They’ll happily vote against their own self interest as long as they’re able to keep their guns, because they’ve bought into the whole “guns = freedom” bullshit that organizations like the NRA and Gun Owners of America keep peddling.
